Aliya is a registered osteopath and a proud graduate of RMIT University, holding a double degree of Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Her approach to osteopathy is founded on the principle that the body operates as an interconnected unit, where the musculoskeletal system and overall health are closely linked. Aliya is a strong advocate for enhancing the body's inherent ability to self-regulate and heal, aiming for a holistic approach that addresses the root cause of issues rather than just treating symptoms.
Understanding that osteopathic treatment is not a one-size-fits-all solution, Aliya recognises the uniqueness of each patient, along with their specific needs and circumstances. Through detailed assessments, they are committed to designing personalised treatment plans that not only address symptoms but also tackle underlying causes. These plans may include a variety of techniques, exercises, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to individual requirements.
Beyond Aliya's primary expertise in osteopathy, she also holds certifications in myofascial cupping and dry needling, which they consider to be effective complements to traditional osteopathic treatments.
Currently, Aliya serves as an Osteopath at the AFL Diversity Academies nationwide and the Islamic College of Sport. Aliya's previous experiences include working with the Brisbane Lions Football Club, Williamstown VFL, and several local football and soccer clubs. These roles have fueled her particular interest in treating acute sports injuries and aiding athletes in their recovery processes, aiming to help them return to and maintain peak performance.
